Samsung Galaxy S7 Tipped to Launch in 4 Variants; Sport Pressure Sensitive Display
Samsung's next Galaxy flagship smartphone may be still months away from unveiling but there's no shortage of leaks related to the handset. In a new leak, one of the most reliable phone tipsters, Evan Blass aka @evleaks has claimed that Samsung will launch four variants of the Galaxy S7 early next year.
Blass in a tweet has shared an image that shows names of the four possible Samsung Galaxy phones namely Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy S7 Edge Plus. So far, details about the other variants of the Galaxy S7 are limited. We can expect the Edge phones to sport dual-edge displays however, and the Galaxy S7 Plus to be an upgraded version of the flagship, the Galaxy S7.
Additionally, The Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung's upcoming flagship will pack a pressure-sensitive screen, something we saw in the latest iPhone models - the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The report adds the Galaxy S7 will come with an Edge variant, which corroborates Blass' claims. The report adds that the Galaxy S7 is expected to feature microSD card support, in-line with an earlier report. Notably, the microSD card support was missing from the company's flagships this year. On design front, the Galaxy S7 is said to be "largely similar" to the Galaxy S6.
In a separate report, the purported Galaxy S7 chassis has been leaked in images. First posted by a Weibo user, the new chassis images hint that the Galaxy S7 will pack a significantly different design compared to the Samsung Galaxy S6 launched last year.
