InFocus has announced that its M370 and M812 smartphones will start receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by December.
The company as of now has not revealed plans whether it will release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update via OTA (over-the-air) or will be through system. Both the InFocus M370 and M812 were launched in July this year; though went on sale in recent months. The InFocus M370 and M812 ran Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company's skin called InLife UI, which is highly customisable, running on top. We can expect the company to introduce a newer version of its InLife UI based Android 6.0 Marshmallow. To recall, the InFocus M370 and M812 were launched at Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 19,999 respectively.
Some of the new features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow (previously just Android M) include revamped app permissions; Google Now on Tap feature; new Chrome feature that will change the Web experience for Android users; new ways to handle Web links; Android Pay mobile payment system is now official with Android M; new fingerprint APIs for developers to add into their apps, New Silent feature for sound and vibrate mode as well as a 'Do Not Disturb' mode to block all sounds or only alarms and notifications, and battery saver features called Doze that will make Android devices smart about managing power. Some of the other additions include new RAM manager, adoptable storage devices, new app drawer, auto backup and restore for apps, and support for USB Type-C ports.
Earlier this month, InFocus launched the M535 at Rs. 9,999. The smartphone was the successor to the company's M530 smartphone.
