OnePlus X Spotted on Certification Site With Images, Specifications
The OnePlus X or the OnePlus Mini smartphone, which has been a victim of several rumours and leaks in the past few months, now appears to have passed Tenaa, the Chinese telecommunications certification website. The listing reveals few specifications about the unannounced smartphone. In a separate report, a website has also given more details on its processor, display, StyleSwap covers and more.
The upcoming OnePlus X smartphone was listed with model name One E1001 on the Chinese telecommunication website with images. The Tenaa images posted by a user on Weibo, show the same model that was purportedly listed by the US FCC recently. However, this time the OnePlus X is seen with a notification switch on the left side like in the company's current flagship - OnePlus 2. Three capacitive buttons are placed below the display and the side bezels are said to sport a metal build. The listing suggests the 4G supporting smartphone to house a 4.9-inch display and a 2450mAh battery. It would measure 140x69x6.9mm.
Meanwhile, an anonymous tipster also revealed a bunch of features for the handset to GforGames website. As per the report, the OnePlus X would equip a ClearForce-ready display, which functions similarly to iPhone 6s models' Force Touch display. The smartphone would reportedly sport a 5-inch full-HD display, the same used in Xiaomi Mi 4c. OnePlus X is also said to share the Mi 4c's 'SideTouch' technology, in which users can launch apps or the device camera application by touching the left-side of the screen. Since the smartphone would not be a high-end offering by OnePlus, these features might not see the light of the day.
The report adds the handset will bear dual front-facing speakers, which surprisingly was not visible in the Tenaa listing images. A 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX258 sensor without OIS is also expected. The rear camera would however, be featuring a combination of PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation), which is also present in the latest Google Nexus smartphones.
As for the connectivity, the OnePlus X will reportedly include FM radio, NFC, and an IR blaster. Also mentioned is the inclusion of removable StyleSwap covers. Although the back panel would be removable, the battery would stay fixed as the smartphone would be IP67-certified. Beside wireless charging, the OnePlus X is said to run on a MediaTek MT6795 SoC, clubbed with 2GB of RAM. It is still not clear as to when the handset would be launched.
