HTC One A9 a 'Good Alternative to the iPhone', Says HTC CEO: Report
HTC is all set to launch a new Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based smartphone on Tuesday. The live-streamed event kicks off at 12pm EDT, or 9:30pm IST, and is expected to see the launch of the HTC One A9, a smartphone has been much leaked in the past few weeks showing an iPhone-like design. The smartphone is good enough to be an alternative to iPhone, boasts HTC CEO.
Earlier this month - right after the Google Nexus launch, HTC announced that it will be holding an event on October 20 for the launch of Android 6.0 Marshmallow handset. HTC Chairwoman and CEO Cher Wang reportedly wrote to company's employees to share her excitement about the new smartphone. She said that company's employees will be proud of the upcoming smartphone. She believes that the smartphone with its "balance between beauty, performance, and simplicity" can be an alternative to the iPhone, Wang was
quoted as saying by Focus Taiwan.
In the letter, Focus Taiwan further reports, Wang encourages the employees to invite their friends and family to watch the online launch of the phone. From the leaked rendered images of the HTC One A9, the metal-clad smartphone seems to have a striking resemblance with Apple's iPhone handsets.
As for what we know about the HTC One A9, the handset is expected to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. If the leaked rumours are accurate, the One A9 sports a 5-inch FHD (1920x1080) display. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 617 SoC paired with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM with 16GB and 32GB storage options with support for microSD card. On the photography front, the handset is started to have a 13-megapixel rear camera. The One M9 could be priced at EUR 599 (roughly Rs. 44,200).
