Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Gets Android Lollipop 5.0 Update in India
As promised, the South-Korean tech giant Samsung has rolled out,
the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 update for the Galaxy Note Edge users in
India. Basically, the first report from Sammobile revealed this
official Samsung news.
The Lollipop update comes with new material design which offers a bold,
colorful and responsive UI, refreshing notification system.
It will also allow the users to see the notification in the lock
screen and they will get displayed like banners on the top of the
screen. Additionally, there is a do-not-disturb feature added to the
notification bar.
This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery
saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery
Historian -- which tracks the battery consumption by an application.
Recapping the specs of the Note Edge, the bended-display smartphone
flaunts a 5.6-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 1600x2560
pixels. It is clocked at 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805
processor along with 3GB RAM under the hood. On the internal storage, it
has 32GB of built-in memory, which can be expandable up to 64GB via
microSD card slot.
On the camera front, it has 16MP front camera with LED flash, 3.7MP
front camera, for selfies. This device is shipped with Android 4.4 on
top of TouchWiz.
Moving on to the connectivity, Note Edge supports Wi-Fi, BT 4.0, NFC,
Infrared, MHL Out, 3G connectivity along with some sensors like Compass/
Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor,
Gyroscope, Barometer sensors.
Launched in September 2014, it is powered by a 3000mAh battery and comes
in White, Black variant. Further, Note Edge is available in the market
at a starting price of Rs 56,268.
