Samsung Galaxy A50 to Feature 4,000mAh Battery, 24-Megapixel Main Camera, Claims Report

Samsung Galaxy A series is expected to go through a transformation next year, with the nomenclature favouring double-digit monikers for the future Galaxy A-Series models instead of the previous single-digit names. One of the upcoming phones in the series - the Galaxy A50 - has now been leaked, and it is tipped to pack a large 4,000mAh battery. A report suggests that the smartphone will sport a 24-megapixel main camera, but it doesn't reveal how many lenses will be placed on the back or the front.
Dutch website GalaxyClub.nl is reporting that the Samsung Galaxy A50 will pack a 4,000mAh battery and a 24-megapixel main camera. If this is true, the Galaxy A50 will be the second phone from Samsung to pack a large 4,000mAh battery after the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Samsung has traditionally favoured smaller batteries and has banked on its software optimisations to provide a good battery life. In the Galaxy Note 7, the company did try to cram a large battery, causing the phone to catch fire for many users. A worldwide recall was then initiated, and the smartphone was killed off altogether. It seems the company has finally decided to embrace larger batteries.
Among other specifications, the Galaxy A50 is reportedly expected to run on Android 9 Pie and will be powered by the Exynos 9610 processor. It will also pack 4GB RAM, 64/ 128GB of internal storage, and an Infinity-O type display.
Finally, the report speculates that the Galaxy A50 will be launched after the introduction of the Galaxy S10 series as the South Korea manufacturer typically prefers that its flagship models are the first to ship with a new Android version. The smartphone is likely to be unveiled in the first half of 2019, but the exact time-frame is unclear at the moment. The Samsung Galaxy A50 will also most probably launch in the European markets first, alongside with the Galaxy A30.
The company is reported to be working on several Galaxy A-Series smartphones, and it has already filed for trademarks in Europe for the devices, namely Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70, and Galaxy A90.
Samsung is also expected to unveil its new affordable Galaxy M series in January in India, and will bring as many as four devices - the Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20, Galaxy M30, and Galaxy M40.
