LG G7 ThinQ Android 9 Pie Update to Roll Out in Q1 2019

LG G7 ThinQ Android 9 Pie Update to Roll Out in Q1 2019

LG has officially confirmed that its flagship phone, LG G7 ThinQ₹ 29,990, will be getting the Android 9 Pie update in this quarter. The company has been testing Android Pie on the G7 for a while now, and now this will be a rollout of the final stable version. This update timeline, however, only applies to South Korea and there is no confirmation on when the stable Android Pie update will roll out to the other markets. That said, LG usually releases updates to the other markets within a couple of months after the Korean market, so the rollout may happen in other countries by (or after) Q2 2019.
LG has listed the update on its official site, citing Q1 2019 as the Android 9 Pie rollout period for South Korea. As we mentioned, no dates or plans have been revealed for the other countries as of now. Additionally, the Android Pie update details haven't been listed for any of the company's mid-range phones as well.
While we don't have the LG G7 ThinQ in India, we do have the G7+ ThinQ (Review), which was rated as one of the best phones of 2018 by Gadgets 360. LG also plans to unveil a 5G variant of the G7 ThinQ smartphone at MWC this year. As reported by The Korea Herald, the upgraded LG G7 ThinQ will be using Qualcomm's 5G chipset.
LG's rollout of Android 9 Pie comes a bit late to the party as other major smartphone manufacturers have already rolled out the update for their flagship devices. To remind you, Android 9 Pie brings a number of new features, including Adaptive Battery, App Actions, Slices, Digital Wellbeing, and more
