Sony Xperia XZ3 Tipped to Sport Dual Front, Dual Rear Cameras
After being leaked on GFXbench, details about the Sony Xperia XZ3 have surfaced online again, this time giving us more clarity on the cameras. According to a fresh leak, the Sony Xperia XZ3 is expected to launch with four cameras in total - two at the back and two at the front. The smartphone was already rumoured to have a dual camera setup at the back, but now the latest leak suggest that two front cameras are in the offing as well.
This latest information comes from Japanese publication Sumaho Info, and it's leaked what it claims to be the camera modules of the Sony Xperia XZ3. The report states that the source is very reliable, and the image shows four camera sensors - one set comparatively smaller than the other. This suggests that the Sony Xperia XZ3 could indeed come with four cameras on board. Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ was tipped to come with five cameras in total - two front, and three at the back.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 is tipped to run on Android 9.0 (Android P, and a 5.9-inch full-HD+ display with a resolution of 1440x2880 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio and 5-finger gesture support. At its core, the smartphone is expected to get an octa-core Qualcomm 845 SoC clocked at 2.7GHz, and paired with 6GB RAM and Adreno 630 GPU. The Xperia XZ3 may come in two storage options - particularly 64GB and 128GB - that both will be expandable via microSD card (up to 400GB).
Previous reports state that Xperia XZ3 will bear a dual rear camera setup, comprising a 19-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. The front of the smartphone is expected to have a 13-megapixel camera sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone is also found to have 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. It is expected to come with a 3240mAh battery supporting Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and measure 153x72x10.1mm.
Details around pricing and availability haven't been revealed yet, neither has anything been confirmed by Sony. We could expect the handset to launch around IFA 2018 in August/ September this year, if indeed it ships with Android P out-of-the-box.
