OnePlus 5 Now Receiving OxygenOS 4.5.15 Update With October Android Security Patch and Bug Fixes

OnePlus has started rolling out the latest software update for the OnePlus 5, OxygenOS 4.5.15, which includes multiple bug fixes along with the Android security patch for the month of October. The update is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, but brings with it October's Android security patch update. The OnePlus 5 is currently two months behind schedule on the monthly security patch updates from Google.
Apart from the latest security patch, the OxygenOS 4.5.15 update also includes improvements in GPS and fixes issues like setting customised alarm ringtone, sharing emoji from Bitmoji and a few other minor bug fixes. The update, available as OTA download, has a file size of 74MB and is being rolled out 'incrementally', starting with a small percentage of users and a broader rollout expected in the coming days.
Just last month, the OnePlus 5 received its first Android 8.0 Oreo based Open Beta build. With the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T having received the stable build for Android 8.0 Oreo already, we can expect the OnePlus 5 to also get the update soon.
The OnePlus 5T, on the other hand, recently received the OxygenOS 4.7.4 update that includes system-level improvements, including optimisations for audio from speaker and earphones, face unlock, and vibration. The OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition was announced in India recently. The limited edition phone is set to go on sale starting December 15, and will be launched in Mumbai on Thursday.
The OnePlus 5 was launched in June 2017. The phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 128GB non-expandable storage.
