OnePlus 3 Allegedly Spotted With 6GB of RAM in Benchmark Listing

A new OnePlus device, believed to be the OnePlus 3 smartphone, has been spotted in a couple of benchmark listings tipping massive 6GB of RAM.

The alleged OnePlus 3 is listed as OnePlus 'Rain Rain' A3000 on GeekBench and GFXBench benchmarking websites. The GeekBench listing purportedly claims that the OnePlus 3 packs 6GB of RAM alongside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) SoC clocked at 1.5GHz and Android 6.0.1. According to benchmark listing, the OnePlus 'Rain' A3000 scores 2266 in single core test while scores 5012 in multi-core test.

The GFXBench listing of the alleged OnePlus 3 lists the handset as 'Rain A3000' again tips Snapdragon 820 processor and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. Other details tipped include 5-inch full-HD display; 64GB of storage; 16-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera on board. Contradicting to the GeekBench, the GFXBench lists OnePlus 'Rain' A3000 to pack 4GB of RAM. It's possible the two benchmarks are tipping existence of different variants of the OnePlus 3 - one featuring 6GB of RAM while other packs 4GB of RAM. German website Winfuture spotted the benchmark listings first. Earlier, OnePlus 3 was purportedly leaked in AnTuTu listing.

The above leak should be taken with a pinch of salt as OnePlus has not mentioned any details about the upcoming OnePlus 3 and the leak's legitimacy remains questionable.

The Chinese company has confirmed that it is working on its third flagship smartphone for months now, which Co-Founder Carl Pei claimed will sport a "new design," and is expected to launch in the second quarter of this year. Carl Pei went on to claim that the new flagship from OnePlus would "captivate" users just as the company's first handset, the OnePlus One, had. Further, he had added that OnePlus 3 would arrive in the US and other markets as an unlocked smartphone and will be sold directly by OnePlus.
