Docoss X1 'Real Images' and Hands-On Video Shared on Social Media

Docoss, little-known manufacturer of the Docoss X1 smartphone that seems to have caught attention of consumers in India this week, has posted images and a hands-on video of its Rs. 888 smartphone in a bid to assure prospective customers the phone is 'real'. After Ringing Bells and mPhone, the scepticism around smartphone that sounds too good to be true is understandable, and Docoss is trying its best to dispel the duplicitous image.
To recall, the incredible price alongside the malfunctioning booking process and obscure origins of the company raised doubts about whether the Docoss X1 was in fact genuine, or just a scam.
The smartphone is currently up for pre-bookings (and will be up till Friday 10pm) via SMS and the company's website. On Thursday afternoon, Docoss' Twitter handle tweeted, "Don't panic real phone real images," alongside four images of the Docoss X1 that appear to match the device seen on the company's website.

Separately, in a Facebook post earlier on Thursday, Docoss posted an unboxing and hands-on video with the smartphone. The video clarified the Docoss X1 will be available in only colour variant - Black, and that the box will come with earphones, apart from an AC adapter and USB data cable. The video also shows certain applications are pre-installed, including WhatsApp.

The company in the video goes on to reiterate the specifications of the Docoss X1 smartphone, and claims that while people are wondering how it has managed to provide these specifications at this price, that's "actually the USP of our product."

In the meanwhile, Docoss on Friday also published a video on its YouTube channel, reiterating the specifications of the smartphone. To recall, the Docoss X1 features a 4-inch display, with an unconventional resolution of 400x480 pixels; a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A7 processor; 1GB of RAM; 4GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB); GPRS/ EDGE; 3G; a 1300mAh battery; a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash; a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It weighs 102 grams, and measures 122.2x64.4x9.3mm.
