Archos 50d Oxygen With 5-Inch Display Launched Ahead of MWC 2016
Archos on Thursday unveiled its latest high-end smartphone, the Archos 50d Oxygen. The handset will be showcased at the MWC 2016 trade show and will go on sale starting May this year priced at $149.99 (roughly Rs. 10,200).
The dual-SIM dual standby supporting 50d Oxygen runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and features a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 440.51 ppi. The smartphone packs an octa-core MediaTek MTK6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, clubbed with Mali T720 MP3 GPU (450 MHz) and 2GB DDR3 RAM.
The Archos 50d Oxygen houses a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It features 16GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). The 4G LTE-enabled handset also includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, and Micro-USB under its connectivity options.
Measuring 141.4x70.6x8.12mm, the Archos 50d Oxygen is backed by a 2100mAh battery. "The Archos 50d Oxygen is the epitome of sleek, functional and modern," says Loic Poirier, CEO of Archos. "The smooth exterior with gold accents emanates a truly high-end feel which make it an essential part of our Oxygen line."
The Archos 50d Oxygen comes as the successor to the 50c Oxygen. The Archos 50c Oxygen sports a 5-inch HD display, octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage, and 2000mAh battery. The handset runs on Android 4.2 KitKat.
The company at the last year's MWC 2015 trade show launched four smartphones and 3 tablets. The French smartphone maker launched the Archos 50 Oxygen+, 52 Platinum, 59 Xenon, and 62 Xenon, along with the Archos 101 Magnus, 101 Magnus +, and 94 Magnus tablets.
