Asus Pegasus 5000 With 4850mAh Battery Launched

Asus has launched its new Pegasus-series smartphone in China, the Pegasus 5000. The all-new Asus Pegasus 5000 has been unveiled in two RAM variants - 2GB RAM model has been priced at CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs. 13,350) and there is a 3GB RAM model as well priced at CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 18,500).

The biggest highlight of the Pegasus 5000 is its 4850mAh battery capacity. Unfortunately, there is no word about whether the Pegasus 5000 will be unveiled outside China.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based smartphone runs company's ZenUI on top. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display and also sports a Corning Gorilla Glass for protection. The Pegasus 5000 is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6753) processor. The handset comes with 16GB inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD (up to 32GB). The dual-SIM Pegasus 5000 smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

According to a Japanese blog, the Pegasus 5000 supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Micro-USB connectivity options. It measures 155x76.4x9mm and weighs 176 grams.

The new Asus Pegasus 5000 is said to be an enhanced variant of the Pegasus 2 Plus smartphone, which was unveiled last year in China.

Recently, Asus started rolling out a firmware update for the ZenFone 2 smartphone which brought several improvements apart from adding Android for Work support. The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML users started receiving the firmware update that introduced fixes for video sound issue; Google Play stop service; microSD card issue, and fixes phone hang-up issue in Russia. Some of the other fixes that the ZenFone 2 received include PosteMobile NFC issue (for ZE551ML models only); improved Asus ZenUI launcher stability; improved cell broadcast stability, and fixed the failure to share Photo Collage picture via email.
