LG Gentle Flip Phone With Android 5.1 Lollipop, 4G Support Launched

LG has launched the Gentle flip phone in South Korea priced at KRW 200,000 (approximately Rs. 11,000).

So far, there is no word about the availability of the LG Gentle flip phone. Considering that LG keeps its flip phones limited to the Korean market, it is unlikely that the flip phone might be announced outside the home country.

The company had, earlier this year, launched LG Ice Cream Smart flip phone in its home turf South Korea. The handset was launched at KRW 300,000 (roughly Rs. 17,000) and the smartphone remained Korea-specific.

Unlike some flip phones that sport dual-screens (on the inside and the outside of the top half), the LG Gentle smartphone features a single 3.2-inch LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 320x480 pixels. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and the flip phone is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) alongside 1GB of RAM. There is 4GB of inbuilt storage on board, and the Gentle flip phone supports expandable storage (unspecified maximum storage limit) via microSD card.

The new flip phone from LG sports a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while also includes a 0.3-megapixel front camera. It bears a 1700mAh removable battery. Apart from 4G LTE, the LG Gentle includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and 3G connectivity options. It measures 117.7x58.7x16.6mm; weighs 143 grams, and will be available in Navy and Burgundy colours.

Earlier in July, LGlaunched another variant of its flagship handset, the LG G4 Beat.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based LG G4 Beat sports the LG UX 4.0 UI introduced with the LG G4, and features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with eight cores clocked at 1.5GHz, clubbed with 1.5GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.
