LG G4 Beat With 5.2-Inch Display, Octa-Core SoC Launched
LG, after launching its G4 Stylus
last month, on Thursday launched the flagship handset's fifth variant,
the LG G4 Beat. The smartphone will be reaching Europe and Latin America
including France, Germany, and Brazil this month, alongside Canada,
India, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, and Turkey, this month. The
handset maker has not yet revealed the price or the exact launch date of
the G4 Beat in India.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based LG G4 Beat sports the LG UX 4.0 UI introduced with the LG G4, and features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display that is slightly smaller than the 5.5-inch QHD display seen on the flagship version LG G4. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with eight cores clocked at 1.5GHz, clubbed with 1.5GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.
The G4 Beat houses an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The firm has added that the G4 Beat Latin America version would be featuring the same front-facing camera but a better 13-megapixel rear camera, which is also present in the flagship G4 handset. The camera features of the G4 Beat are largely inspired from the flagship LG G4, such as Manual Mode, Gesture Interval Shot, Colour Spectrum Sensor and laser autofocus. Also included is 8GB of eMMC inbuilt storage.
The smartphone however is backed by a slightly lower removable battery - 2300mAh, as compared to LG G4's 3000mAh battery. Measuring 142.7x72.6x9.85mm, the LG G4 Beat weighs 139 grams and will be available in Metallic Silver, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold colour variants. The connectivity features included in the smartphone are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, A-GPS, Glonass, and USB 2.0.
"Too often, mid-tier phones sacrifice overall usability in order to include that one killer feature," said Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company during the launch. "Our goal with the LG G4 Beat was to create a phone that was not only well- balanced in terms of display, camera, performance and design but delivered terrific value and satisfaction."
