Micromax anounces Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Canvas A1 smartphone

According to the TeCake technical staff, the smartphone users could manually check for an update by simply visiting Settings > About Phone > System updates. It is recommended to the users that they should keep the battery charged more than 30 percent, before updating the device software.

The Micromax Canvas A1 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop (out-of-the-box), supported by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor that is coupled with a 1 GB of RAM. It is fronted with a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display and a 2 megapixel of webcam. Meanwhile, the back of the device boasts a 5 megapixel of primary image snapper with LED flash. The device is fueled with a 1,700 mAh of battery that provides quite decent power backup to the 5.0 running on it.
The manufacturer reported that the after upgrading the smartphone to the 5.1 OS the users will experience better battery backup and several performance and security improvements and bug fixes as well. Also, the update sports Google’s Material Design Language-inspired interface and all pre-installed updated Google Apps.
Besides this, the Spice Dream UNO and Karbonn Sparkle V are reportedly getting the same update.
